- For managing the WFH users
Great for supporting users
- Mobile Device Management is easy to get set up for users
- Patch Management gives a clear overview as to how many devices are missing important updates
- The Remote Control tool is a lifesaver for users working remotely
- USB Secure configuration isn't possible for us to use as I can't manually add every single device ID from every computer for exemptions
- The Remote Control tool hasn't ever reconnected for me when attempting a user device restart
- It's difficult to fine tune our Auto Patch deployment
My day just got a lot easier!
- Patch Management
- Remote Control Support
- Inventory Management
- Manual addition of computers not scanned.
Good for medium sized business, easy to use
- Patch Management is very easy to use and deploy patches each month
- Inventory Reporting is straight forward with multiple premade reports available
- Remote Connections are very simple to use, it only takes 15 seconds to find and connect to a device.
- Software Deployment and the Self serviceportal give you multiple ways of deploying your apps.
- LAN Scan module would make it easier to manage missing endpoints and track down all kit.
- Patches are not realised on the Tuesday in the UK, they can sometimes take a couple of days to show up.
- More Customisation of the layout would be ideal
- Chat function is a little dated
ManageEngine Endpoint Central makes life easier for IT
- Remote support
- Patch management
- Inventory management
- Mobile device management
- Licensing compliance
- Software uninstall could have better reporting.
- Updating the remote client can be problematic when an old version is already installed.
- The secure gateway component could use some better GUI monitoring.
Managing 2000 users effectively and securely, this is cost-effective and very effective product to seriously consider.
- Securing mobile devices
- Monitoring and securing our various servers
- Managing people using these devices
- Protecting our network, company and client data
- More granular access level controls for technicians (restrictions for juniors) on the Mobile Device Management add-on
- Monitoring mobile data usage on mobile devices, this has been in the product pipeline for 5 years, but not yet implemented
- Ability to remotely support company-owned mobile devices with no end-user permission. End-user needs to allow the remote session, when sometimes that's what we don't want since we're doing an investigation.
- Provide so many tools during the remote control (blank screen to the end-user, transfer files, chat, video call, send commands like Ctrl+Alt+Del).
- Install / Uninstall software silently for the end-user, without the need for their participation.
- Keeping the machines up to date using the patch deployment (for Windows and 3rd parties).
- Automate the regular maintenance like deleting temporary files, emptying the recycle bin, and disk defragmentation out of operational hours.
- Scheduled Wake On Lan the machines to execute some tasks, like prevent maintenance, install/uninstall software or patches. Obviously, it also can power off the machines after tasks are performed.
- Increase the configurations for Mac and Linux systems (because most of the features are available only for Windows).
- Expand the scope of the mobile app, like OS Deployment and MDM modules.
- OS Deployment module has many flaws, I think it could be improved.
1) If you need to have the inventory details about your computers and servers, no matter if they are in or out of the office.
2) If you need to provide remote support to your end-users or inclusive to your end customers because there is an MSP version.
3) If you need to automate preventive maintenance to your computers and servers and keep them up to date Less appropriate:
1) If you need to deploy the whole operating system remotely, there are still some flaws, and is not so fast.
2) If you need to keep all control from the mobile app, as of now that is not possible because not all the modules are added in the mobile app.
3) If you need to block the USB ports on Mac or Linux machines because that feature is only available for Windows.
Easy computer management
- Desktop Central is great for computer management. I'm able to monitor and keep track of all our computers. I can even audit what hardware and software are on each.
- It's very easy to deploy software to our computers and even push OS and software updates
- We can use the ManageEngine Desktop Central feature to manage the many Ipads we have in our company. I can push apps and profiles to them.
- Computer imaging
- Asset tracking
